Material Handler
Job Title: Material Handler
Job Duration: 6 months with highly potential of extension.
Job Location: Raleigh, NC 27629
Shift Timing: Monday - Friday; 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Position Summary:
In this role, you will be responsible for providing shipping, receiving, storage, and order fulfillment services for finished goods, materials, supplies, and equipment at the assigned facility. Your tasks will ensure that the correct items are picked, packed, sorted, and shipped according to customer requirements while maintaining a high level of quality.
Job Responsibilities:
- Pick, pack, sort, arrange, count, store, and correctly process items for storage and shipment.
- Receive materials and/or finished goods daily, verifying the quality, type, and amount of materials received.
- Ensure that proper documentation, such as packing lists, is included with the received items.
- Operate distribution equipment safely as required, and work in various temperature-controlled environments (room temperature, cold room, freezer room).
- Satisfactorily complete training requirements and operate within all ISO standards pertaining to Distribution.
- Maintain good communication skills and provide excellent customer service while interacting with internal personnel.
- Follow policies and procedures to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of the shipping and receiving process.
- Be flexible to work varying schedules, hours, and overtime as needed.
- Support daily operations by using ERP systems, Outlook, and shipping software.
Required Skills:
- High school diploma.
- 2 years of related experience in logistics; experience in a life sciences company is preferred.
- Ability to operate powered industrial trucks and work with equipment at various heights.
- Basic computer skills, including navigating ERP systems and shipping software.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs and working in a warehouse environment.
- Manufacturing, Pharmaceutical, Medical device, or life science background.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in fulfilling orders and maintaining inventory.
