Job Summary:
Client is currently seeking a Lab Technician with prior experience working in a fast-paced analytical lab to join the High Throughput Purification team within the Discovery Chemistry Department located at our West Point, PA site. The successful candidate will support a multidisciplinary, highly collaborative discovery team that analyzes and purifies Client medicines prepared by our medicinal chemists.
Responsibilities:
• In this role, the candidate will be primarily responsible for the preparation of standard solutions, concentration of purified sample solutions, basic UPLC maintenance, managing the ordering and inventory of lab consumables, and submitting equipment maintenance requests.
• Other responsibilities may include maintaining equipment inventories, operating analytical and preparative instrumentation, and assisting with work orders and requisitions.
To accomplish the above, the successful candidate must have keen attention to detail, excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills, and a strong safety mindset.
Qualifications:
• Required- High School Diploma with a minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience.
• Preferred-BS/BA in chemistry/biochemistry/biology or relevant field with 0-2 years of experience.
Required Skills and Experience:
• Experience with basic lab equipment: balances, rotary evaporators, Milli-Q systems, and automatic pipettors.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic computer programs.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills in a fast-paced team environment.
• Strong organizational skills.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
• Experience in operation and maintenance of HPLC, LCMS, and Product chromatography.
• Knowledge of basic chemistry.
• Experience in making standard solutions.
• Experience with inventory management.
