Salary Range - $295,000 to $350,000k

Job Summary:
Chief Nurse Officer: Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer with a reporting relationship to the health care system’s Chief Nursing Executive, having the broadest product for the exercise of independent initiative and judgment, is responsible for the development and implementation of facility-wide nursing education programs, operational standards, policies, procedures, and strategies, and an effective and ongoing program to monitor, evaluate and improve the quality of patient care. Ensures optimal utilization of resources, service delivery, safe patient care, and compliance with all applicable local, state, federal and Client + Hospitals rules and regulations and nursing standards of care, to improve outcomes and the patient experience.

Ensures optimal utilization of resources, service delivery, safe patient care, and compliance with all applicable local, state, federal and Client + Hospitals rules and regulations and nursing standards of care, to improve outcomes and the patient experience.
General responsibilities include:
- Oversees all day-to-day nursing operations and the implementation of strategic nursing management plans to ensure that patient satisfaction, staff engagement, quality care, and financial goals are met.
- Plans, directs, and assesses facility-wide clinical and operational performance improvement programs, and measures and evaluates facility performance against system-wide strategic goals and objectives for the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective patient care.
- Presents research and evidence-based recommendations for nursing practices; creates a collaborative, information-sharing environment to provide effective and consistent care across the continuum; and promotes and supports systems and programs to drive change and improve employee engagement.
- Effectively collaborates and liaises with senior leadership, and facility executive staff, medical staff, administration, and other departments to develop and implement clinical integration strategy; nursing policies, strategies, and operational standards; and measurement tools to ensure accurate and consistent implementation.
- Directs the planning and implementation of nursing training programs, and oversees the recruitment, development, and retention of high-quality nursing personnel. In partnership with Human Resources, provides oversight of staff credentialing, competencies, evaluation, progressive discipline, etc.
- Develops an effective Union partnership and ensures productive forums for collaboration (e.g., Nurse Practice Council, Labor/Management Council). Provides standardized methods for effective communication with nurse leaders and front-line staff. Speaks on behalf of nursing, explaining and marketing the roles and responsibilities of nurses, at leadership meetings and to a variety of other audiences.
- Collaborates with other disciplines to ensure that care is comprehensive, coordinated, and monitored for effectiveness, and provides continuing assessment of health care needs, including equipment, systems and software, to ensure optimal service outcomes and continued support for the health care system’s mission, vision and values.
- Interprets and maintains adherence to regulations and legislation and responds to bioethical, public policy, and legal issues that may influence the delivery of patient care.
- In conjunction with senior nursing staff and other departments, plans, implements, and administers operating, staffing and capital plans and budgets, and an expense control system.
- Performs related duties, as required.

Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
- Preferred: Master’s Degree in Nursing Administration or related field
Licensure & Certifications:
- Preferred: Valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED)
Required Skills & Experience:
- 8 years of nursing experience
- 6 years of administration or management experience
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- As noted above under Education & Licensure
