Phlebotomist II - Float
Job Location: Atlanta GA
Shift/Time Zone:Day - Shift times varies due to different site coverage: 7am to 4p, 8a to 5p and 9a to 6pm.
Duration: 3 Months
Role Summary:
The PSR II serves as the face of the company, providing high-quality, compassionate service to patients while collecting and preparing specimens for laboratory testing. This role requires excellent phlebotomy skills, professionalism, and the ability to handle confidential patient information with care. The PSR II must demonstrate leadership, adaptability, and a commitment to process excellence.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform venipuncture, capillary, and other specimen collections accurately and safely from patients of all ages (pediatric to geriatric).

Verify patient identity and specimen labeling in the patient’s presence to ensure accuracy.

Prepare and process specimens for lab testing according to established procedures.

Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with company policies.

Create a positive, professional experience for patients while maintaining confidentiality and trust.

Follow safety protocols and uphold a clean, organized work environment.

Travel between locations as needed (for float positions), maintaining punctuality and reliability.

Represent the company’s values through excellent customer service, teamwork, and ethical behavior.
Requirements:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
-
Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.

Phlebotomy certification required in CA, NV, and WA; preferred in other states.

Experience:
-
Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

At least 2 years in a Patient Service Center or similar clinical setting preferred.

Customer service experience in retail or healthcare settings helpful.

Skills:

Strong phlebotomy and specimen handling techniques.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to multitask and work independently with minimal supervision.

Reliable transportation and clean driving record (for float positions).

Proficiency with computer systems and data entry.

Other:

Flexible to work varied schedules, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Must adhere to company policies, including dress code and health/safety standards.

Float Position Details (if applicable):

Travel between multiple patient service centers or in-office phlebotomy locations as assigned.

Eligible for mileage reimbursement.

Must maintain a clean driving record and punctual attendance.
