Job Type: Full-Time, temp to hire position
Duration: 4 months +
Location: Pembroke Pines, FL
Hours per Week: 40
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
Rotational Saturdays: 6:30 AM–10:30 AM
 




Position Summary:

The Phlebotomist I (PSR I) is the frontline representative for patients accessing diagnostic services. This role involves high-quality blood specimen collection, specimen processing, and consistent patient interaction, requiring both technical proficiency and excellent customer service. The PSR I ensures a professional, accurate, and patient-centered experience while adhering to standard operating procedures and confidentiality protocols.




Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform venipuncture and specimen collection for clinical and forensic testing (including pediatric and geriatric patients)

  • Prepare and label specimens accurately for lab transport and analysis

  • Greet and interact with patients professionally to establish trust and explain procedures clearly

  • Follow all safety, quality, and regulatory guidelines

  • Document activities and maintain accurate records

  • Support a safe, clean, and organized work environment

  • Represent the organization with professionalism to patients, clients, and team members

  • Adapt to changing scheduling needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call duties, and overtime as needed




Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)

  • Minimum of 6 months phlebotomy experience (Required)

  • Keyboarding and data entry experience (Required)




Candidate Requirements:

  • Must live within a 20–25 minute commute of the job location

  • Reliable personal transportation is required (bus, rideshare, or Uber is not acceptable)

  • Must be punctual and available to complete the full shift as scheduled

    Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including with pediatric and elderly patients

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment

  • Commitment to confidentiality and patient privacy

  • Positive attitude and professional communication skills
