Job Title: Cardiovascular Radiology Technologist
Location: Cincinnati, OH (Onsite)
Duration: 2 months+ (Possible Extension)
Pay Range: $70/hr. on W2
Schedule Notes:
Shift: 4x10s, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM
On-Call Coverage: Weekdays (5:00 PM - 7:00 AM) and weekends (7:00 AM Saturday to 7:00 AM Monday)
Emergency Response: 30 - minute response time required for emergency cases.
Job Summary:
The Cardiovascular Radiology Technologist - H&V Specialist will provide continuous, comprehensive care to adult and geriatric invasive cardiology, invasive peripheral, and angiography patients. This position requires specialized knowledge, judgment, and skills in compliance with standards of care and customer service standards. The role involves performing angiographic procedures, including invasive vascular treatments and examinations, with an emphasis on achieving optimal image quality. All care is provided in alignment with the client’s model of care, which fosters an ongoing partnership between patients, families, and the healthcare team, ensuring culturally sensitive and age-specific care.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Understands signs, symptoms, and data related to the patient’s presenting needs.
- Recognizes and reports abnormal data and changes in the patient’s condition to the physician and charge RN.
- Utilizes appropriate handoff methods to communicate pertinent data to the healthcare team.
- Assesses patient, family, and environment for safety risks, taking proactive safety initiatives.
- Provides individualized patient and family education based on needs, collaborating with the multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrates critical thinking in reviewing physician orders, making appropriate referrals, and contacting other health professionals.
- Responds to emergency situations with immediate, controlled precision and skill.
- Implements measures to prevent contamination and disease transmission, including the use of protective devices and equipment.
- Functions as a scrub assistant to the cardiologist/radiologist using sterile technique. Assists in the technical performance of diagnostic/interventional procedures in the cath lab and angiography.
- Sets up sterile trays and specialized equipment according to the procedure.
- Maintains hemostasis post-procedure using compression or closure devices or manual compression. Recognizes potential problems with insertion sites and takes corrective action.
- Maintains competency in arterial and venous sheath removal techniques and groin management.
- Demonstrates knowledge of radiation safety policies and practices, including providing proper radiation protection for patients and staff.
- Screens all females of childbearing age for pregnancy and implements safety measures accordingly.
- Properly wears radiation dosimetry badges, exchanges them monthly, and reviews monthly dosimetry reports.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 1-2 years of experience in the cardiovascular radiology field.
- Strong understanding of cardiovascular and peripheral anatomy to support complex procedures.
- Ability to meet individual education and training requirements.
- Ability to participate in on-call coverage as required.
- High level of professionalism and ability to establish strong relationships with patients, staff, and physicians.
- Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab experience, with the ability to scrub and assist with x-ray procedures. MUST HAVE IMPELLA DEVICE EXPERIENCE.
- Ohio Radiologic License must be uploaded within 7 days of accepting the offer or the offer may be rescinded.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in peripheral vascular, structural heart, and larger value hospitals.
- ACLS certification is preferred but not required.
