Phlebotomist II

Shift:Mon to Fri - 8 AM to 5 PM
Duration: 3+ months
Overview:
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) plays a vital role in creating a welcoming and supportive experience for patients visiting our facility. The PSR II is responsible for skillfully collecting blood samples, preparing specimens for lab testing, and ensuring all procedures are followed according to established practices. This role involves direct patient interaction, where trust, safety, and clear communication are key. The PSR II will also handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality, accuracy, and professionalism.
Responsibilities:

Accurately and promptly complete daily tasks under the supervision of the area supervisor.

Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.

Collect and process both forensic and clinical specimens, ensuring proper handling and adherence to protocols.

Verify patient demographics, initials, and signatures, ensuring correct labeling of specimens.

Keep accurate records and documentation in line with established procedures.

Promote a positive image and maintain strong relationships with patients, clients, employees, and the public.

Demonstrate leadership behaviors, focusing on process excellence and confidentiality.
Requirements:

Ability to deliver high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.

Self-sufficient, able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Expertise in phlebotomy, including pediatric and geriatric populations.

Flexible availability to meet staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.

Adherence to company policies, including dress code, safety guidelines, and overall excellence.

Ability to make decisions based on established protocols and sound judgment.

Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record (where applicable).

Willingness to travel and work across multiple locations with minimal notice.

Ability to handle multiple tasks in a high-volume setting.

Training Locations:
Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.
Education Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.

Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
Experience Requirements:

Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

At least 2 years of experience in a Patient Service Center setting preferred.

Experience in customer service in a retail or service environment is a plus.

Experience with keyboard/data entry preferred.
