Shift: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
Rotational Saturdays: As scheduled
Job Description
The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) represents the face of the organization to patients, whether they visit for routine health checks or critical diagnostic needs. This role is responsible for drawing high-quality blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory testing while adhering to established safety and procedural standards.
The PSR I interacts directly with patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence by explaining procedures and performing blood draws skillfully, safely, and accurately. This position requires strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily phlebotomy and specimen processing tasks accurately and on time under the supervision of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment.
- Confidently perform forensic and clinical specimen collection following established procedures.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, and the public.
- Deliver high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Exhibit excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric draws.
- Remain flexible for staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
Required Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent – Required
- Medical training (Medical Assistant or Paramedic) – Preferred
- Phlebotomy certification – Preferred (Mandatory in CA, NV, WA)
Experience
- Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience – Required
- 1+ years phlebotomy experience – Preferred
- Customer service experience in retail or service environment – Preferred
- Keyboard/data entry proficiency – Required
Additional Requirements
- Must list home city and commute time on resume (should be within 20–25 minutes of site).
- Reliable personal transportation required (bus, Uber, rideshare not acceptable).
- Must be punctual, available for scheduled shifts, and able to stay for the entire shift.
- Excessive absenteeism or tardiness will result in termination.
- Pay rate is based on years of direct phlebotomy experience (overlapping roles do not count twice).
