Job Title: Pre-Analytical Assistant I - 3rd Shift
Job Location: Tucker, GA
Job Duration: 4+ Months of contract
Shift: Monday - Friday 2:00AM - 10:30AM
Pay Rate: $19.78/hr. on W2
Job Description:
Supports the Technical Operations Department with pre-analytical specimen handling, general laboratory support, and workflow tasks to ensure timely, accurate processing and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Specimen Handling & Laboratory Support:

Sort, rack, and deliver specimens to the laboratory.

Store specimens properly and operate centrifuges and aliquoting equipment.

Potentially operate sorting machines in archive mode.
-
Identify issues with specimens (missing information, wrong type, etc.) and resolve or escalate them.
Documentation & Compliance:

Complete all documentation clearly, accurately, and on time.

Understand and adhere to compliance regulations regarding test ordering and specimen handling.

Research test order information when needed.
Team & Departmental Support:

Support department staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.

Learn additional functions in Tech Ops and Specimen Processing for career progression.

Demonstrate flexibility and teamwork to contribute to a positive work environment.
Quality & Performance:
-
Meet quality and production standards within 6 months of training.

Maintain composure under pressure and reflect good judgment in problem-solving.
Education & Experience:
-
High School Diploma or GED required.
-
Medical background or familiarity with medical terminology preferred.
-
Experience in production environments or mainframe computer systems is a plus.
Skills & Abilities:
-
Basic data entry and strong organizational skills.
-
Understanding of specimen types and clinical requirements.
-
Ability to follow compliance and safety regulations.
-
Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

Ability to perform repetitive manual tasks accurately and efficiently.
Physical & Work Environment:
-
Able to sit, stand, or walk for long periods.
-
Lift up to 50 lbs. and maneuver specimen carts/racks.
-
Work safely in biohazard environments with required protective gear.
-
Maintain clean and organized workspace following 5S standards.
