Job Title: X-Ray Technologist
Location: 425 W 59th St, New York, NY 10019
Contract Type: 60-Day Contract
Shift: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Hours per Week: 37.5, Hours per Day: 7.5, Days per Week: 5
In-Person Interview Only: Local Candidates Only
Bone Density Experience: Required (must be listed on resume to be considered)
Hourly pay rate: $62/hr negotiable (**Per-diem rates are also applicable for qualified candidates)
Role Overview:
The X-Ray Technologist operates radiologic and magnetic imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images of the body. This role is responsible for patient preparation, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and maintaining equipment. Additionally, the technologist will be expected to maintain high-quality radiographs, ensure the safety of patients and staff, and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the team.

Key Responsibilities:
- Establish rapport with patients to understand service requirements and reduce anxiety.
- Prepare patients for radiological procedures by positioning and adjusting equipment.
- Practice radiation protection to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
- Maintain production quality of radiographs and process them according to established procedures.
- Document patient care services accurately and verify exam completion.
- Perform preventive maintenance on radiology equipment and troubleshoot malfunctions.
- Monitor and maintain radiology supply inventory.
- Maintain a clean, safe working environment and adhere to infection control protocols.
- Stay current with professional knowledge through workshops, publications, and continuing education.
- Participate in team efforts to achieve related goals.
- Complete yearly Age-Specific Competency and other duties as assigned.
- Graduate from an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology.
- Licensing: New York State License (L.R.T.), American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification.
- Experience: No experience required, but bone density experience is mandatory (must be noted on resume).
- Proficiency in diagnostic procedures.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Focus on quality and patient safety.
- Strong dependability and attention to detail.
- Ability to create a safe, effective environment for both patients and staff.
