Job Title: Applications Analyst III (Epic Cadence & Referrals)
Role Overview
The Applications Analyst III is a senior-level business and technology specialist responsible for aligning application solutions with organizational and clinical business strategies. This role serves as a trusted advisor and internal consultant, providing technical expertise, business process insight, and strategic guidance on complex initiatives. The analyst acts as a liaison between business users, IT teams, and vendors to ensure effective system design, implementation, and optimization.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with business and clinical stakeholders to align application solutions with strategic and operational goals
Proactively identify opportunities to improve business processes through effective use of information systems
Advise customers on application functionality, costs, benefits, and implementation considerations
Serve as a technical liaison and broker of services between internal teams and external vendors
Provide expert-level support and guidance on complex application initiatives and strategic planning efforts
Analyze, design, and support application solutions within assigned clinical and technical domains
Lead or contribute to large-scale projects from planning through implementation, coordinating internal teams, vendors, and contractors
Translate complex technical concepts into clear, business-friendly language
Support process improvement and business process re-engineering initiatives
Ensure solutions align with organizational standards, workflows, and long-term objectives
Required Qualifications
Associates degree required; Bachelors degree preferred
35 years of experience in one or more of the following:
Business application design, development, and implementation
Healthcare operations with demonstrated application system expertise
Epic Certifications (Required):
Cadence
Referrals
Preferred Qualifications
Epic MyChart and Decision Tree certifications
Experience in business process re-engineering or process improvement initiatives
Experience using technology strategically to support business growth and operational efficiency
Strong understanding of project management principles and documentation in cross-functional environments
Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and deliver high-quality results
Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills across complex systems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation
Knowledge of healthcare workflows, products, and processes
Understanding of how IT solutions impact and enable redesigned business processes
HL7 knowledge is a plus
Team-oriented, flexible, and adaptable with a collaborative working style
