Support R&D engineers and teams in a testing environment to develop and analyze products, materials, processes, or equipment. This role demands a comprehensive knowledge base and a high level of independence.

Support R&D engineers and teams in a testing environment to develop and analyze products, materials, processes, or equipment. This role demands a comprehensive knowledge base and a high level of independence.
Quality Systems Duties & Responsibilities
Build quality into all aspects of their work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements.
Your responsibilities include:
- Perform various tasks in electrical, mechanical, and optical areas.
- Follow protocols, test methods, or verbal instructions.
- Conduct tests, capture data, and create Excel spreadsheets.
- Maintain detailed documentation throughout all phases of development, testing, and analysis.
- Primarily conduct mechanical testing (e.g., pull, flex, torque, extension, retraction, insertion, withdrawal) with some high voltage/current testing, all requiring meticulous setup.
- Assist in technology transfer and participate in cross-functional discussions on device performance issues.
- Explore and contribute to testing concepts and test method development.
- Serve as a resource for other employees.
- Regularly and thoroughly communicate project status to project teams.
Minimum Qualifications:
- AA Degree or equivalent work experience in a related field, with 3+ years of R&D technical support or related experience.
- Proven ability to set up and conduct product testing and collect data according to medical device standards.
- Experience in operating and maintaining complex test equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and file sharing.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, interacting with engineers and technicians.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in medical device testing.
- Proven ability to interact with highly technical staff in an engineering lab environment.
- Prior experience in documenting tests through electronic lab notebooks or reports.
- Experience in developing test methods and training others.
- Familiarity with equipment such as Instron, MTS, OGP SmartProduct, and Keyence.
- Testing experience including tensile, torque, and RSU.
- Recent 4-year degree applicants such as mechanical/electrical engineers will not be considered.
