Job Title: IT Project Manager III
Location: Santa Monica, CA
Duration: 7 Months+ (Possible Extension)
Pay Rate: $102.18 – $109.48/hr. on W2
Company: Biopharmaceutical company focused on CAR/TCR engineered cell therapies for cancer immunotherapy
Position Overview:
The Senior IT Project Manager (PM) will organize, lead, and deliver multiple concurrent IT projects that support business operations. The role requires coordinating cross-functional teams, external vendors, and geographically dispersed stakeholders, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with strategic objectives. The PM will track dependencies, mitigate risks, and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, including executive leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead IT projects through the full delivery lifecycle (initiation to delivery).
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans (timelines, milestones, resources, dependencies).
- Organize and facilitate workshops to align stakeholders with different viewpoints.
- Run governance ceremonies (steering committees, status reviews, stand-ups).
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Provide oversight across multiple teams (internal, vendor, delivery partners).
- Communicate project status, risks, and dependencies to cross-functional stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization.
- Maintain project documentation to a high standard in accordance with company standards.
- Collaborate with Finance and other departments to ensure compliance with deadlines and governance requirements.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree + 8 years experience OR Master’s Degree + 6 years experience in IT project management.
- Proven experience delivering complex, cross-functional IT programs.
- Experience leading dispersed and global teams, across multiple locations and vendors.
- Strong knowledge of project life cycles (Waterfall, Agile, iterative development).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills for all organizational levels.
- Self-motivated, organized, proactive, collaborative, and results-driven.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Unified Namespace (UNS) concepts and building data taxonomy/naming standards.
- Experience deploying GxP projects and system integrations.
- Knowledge of Medical Affairs business functions.
- Experience in the life sciences/pharmaceutical industry.
- PMP certification.
