Phlebotomist I
Job Title: Phlebotomist I
Location: Saint Augustine, FL
Job Duration: 4+ Months (with potential for extension)
Shift Timings:
- Monday to Friday: 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Mandatory Saturday Rotation: 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Job Summary:
The Phlebotomist I / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of the organization, providing high-quality service to patients during routine health visits or critical diagnostic procedures. This role involves collecting blood specimens, ensuring proper specimen handling, and maintaining a professional and compassionate environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily phlebotomy and specimen processing tasks accurately and on time under the supervision of the area supervisor.
- Collect quality blood samples from patients of all age groups, including pediatric and geriatric populations.
- Prepare specimens for laboratory testing following established protocols.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
- Provide excellent customer service and build trust with patients by explaining procedures clearly and compassionately.
- Demonstrate leadership behaviors and uphold confidentiality standards.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Medical assistant or paramedic training (Preferred)
- Phlebotomy certification (Preferred; Required in CA, NV, WA)
Experience:
- Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience (Required)
- 1+ year of phlebotomy experience (Preferred)
- Customer service experience in retail or service environment (Preferred)
- Proficient in keyboarding and data entry
Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must be flexible and available for weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
- Reliable transportation is mandatory (rideshare/bus not considered reliable).
- Must reside within a 20–25 minute commute from the job site.
- Punctuality and full shift attendance are strictly enforced.
