Phlebotomist I
Job Title: Phlebotomist I
Location: Pembroke Pines, FL
Duration: 3+ months, temp-to-hire
Hours/Week: 40 hours
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Rotational Saturdays: 6:30 AM – 10:30 AM
Position Summary:
The Phlebotomist I represents the face of the organization to patients during health visits that are often routine, but sometimes life-defining. In this role, you will collect quality blood specimens, ensure proper labeling and transport, and follow all procedural and safety protocols. Your role is critical to both the patient experience and the accuracy of laboratory results. The Phlebotomist I builds trust and confidence while providing excellent care and maintaining a professional and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and specialized blood draws, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Prepare specimens for lab testing, following established procedures for clinical and forensic collection.
- Create a positive patient experience by communicating clearly and professionally.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Adhere to safety and quality control standards, including infection control and proper PPE usage.
- Support a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
- Demonstrate organizational commitment and uphold the company’s values and standards.
Required Qualifications:

Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Medical assistant or paramedic training (Preferred)
- Phlebotomy certification (Preferred)

Experience:
- Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience (Required)
- 1+ years of phlebotomy experience (Preferred)
- Customer service experience in healthcare, retail, or similar setting (Preferred)
- Must be proficient in data entry and basic computer use

Skills:
- Strong phlebotomy technique, including pediatric and geriatric draws
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Flexible with scheduling, including availability for weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call as needed
- High attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment
Additional Requirements:
- Must have reliable transportation (personal vehicle; rideshare and public transit not accepted).
- Punctuality and reliability are critical — must be on time and stay for full shift daily.
- Candidates must reside within a 20–25 minute commute of the Pembroke Pines site.
