Title: Process Technician II
Location: Concord, NC 28026 (Onsite Position)
Contract: 12+ Months Contract (Possible of extension)
Shift: 8 AM - 5 PM EST
Job Description:
Contract duration: 12 months Charlotte, NC Area at plant in Midland, NC
Will require 4-6 week of training activities in Wilmington, NC on company travel to start.
Product of Position:
Development Technician responsible for working within teams to develop new or improved optical fiber manufacturing equipment or controls that deliver improved product attributes or reduced cost of optical fiber.
Product May include the following:
Support team tasked with improving process or equipment implemented by R&D and/or developing new equipment capability from concept to prototype to manufacturing demonstration.
Design, install, and troubleshoot existing manufacturing equipment to; improve manufacturing capability, enable use for new or alternate products, and/or scale-up for increased manufacturing capacity or lower cost.
Expectation is to utilize fundamental machine design principles to collaborate with equipment design engineers, processing equipment deployment teams, and manufacturing receivers during later stages of technology development to help define and execute testing protocols or experiments to validate equipment capability.
Team work to accomplish objectives can be either via functional or matrix leadership.
~20% travel possible to site in Wilmington, NC area. 4-6 Weeks training to start, incremental for meetings or experimentation.
Assist in running experiments and interpreting results & Provide support for startup of new equipment.
Provide training and documentation to support transfer of new processes and equipment.
Required Education and Experience:
Two year electrical/mechanical, mechatronics or similar technical degree (or 5 years experience in lieu of degree considered)
2+ years of work experience in a technical field.
Good process and equipment troubleshooting skills
Mechanically and electrically inclined (aptitude for both)
Ability to handle/prioritize multiple tasks as necessary
Sound decision making and prioritization skills
Strong people skills / works well in a team environment,
Ability to handle/prioritize multiple tasks as necessary
Good written and verbal communication skills (detailed oriented)
Desired Skills:
Familiarity with AutoCAD (or similar)
Basic understanding of PLCs
Computer Based Data Analysis (PI, etc.)
Capable of using Diagnostic testing equipment
