Pre-Analytical Assistant I - 1st Shift
Pre-Analytical Assistant I
Location: Miramar, FL
Shift: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Duration: 5+ Months
Job Summary
The Pre-Analytical Assistant I provides general support within the Technical Operations and Specimen Processing departments. This role focuses on handling, processing, and organizing laboratory specimens while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery within a high-volume clinical laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities

Sort, rack, centrifuge, aliquot, store, and transport laboratory specimens.

Perform specimen accessioning and basic data entry.

Identify and resolve specimen issues such as missing information or incorrect specimen types.

Ensure proper specimen handling according to laboratory and compliance guidelines.

Maintain accurate documentation and follow quality standards.

Support specimen pickup, delivery, and storage within the laboratory.

Work collaboratively in a team environment and assist with additional lab support tasks as needed.
Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.

Basic data entry and organizational skills.

Strong English communication skills (spoken and written).

Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.

Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license required.
Preferred Qualifications

Medical or clinical laboratory background.

Knowledge of medical terminology.

Previous experience in production or laboratory environments.

Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
Work Environment

Clinical laboratory / biohazard environment.
-
PPE required when handling specimens (lab coat, gloves, mask, goggles).

Repetitive tasks in a busy production setting.
