Pre-Analytical Assistant I - 1st Shift

Location: Miramar, FL
Shift: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Duration: 5+ Months

The Pre-Analytical Assistant I provides general support within the Technical Operations and Specimen Processing departments. This role focuses on handling, processing, and organizing laboratory specimens while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery within a high-volume clinical laboratory environment.

• Sort, rack, centrifuge, aliquot, store, and transport laboratory specimens.

• Perform specimen accessioning and basic data entry.

• Identify and resolve specimen issues such as missing information or incorrect specimen types.

• Ensure proper specimen handling according to laboratory and compliance guidelines.

• Maintain accurate documentation and follow quality standards.

• Support specimen pickup, delivery, and storage within the laboratory.

• Work collaboratively in a team environment and assist with additional lab support tasks as needed.

• High School Diploma or GED.

• Basic data entry and organizational skills.

• Strong English communication skills (spoken and written).

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.

• Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license required.

• Medical or clinical laboratory background.

• Knowledge of medical terminology.

• Previous experience in production or laboratory environments.

• Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.

• Clinical laboratory / biohazard environment.

• PPE required when handling specimens (lab coat, gloves, mask, goggles).

• Repetitive tasks in a busy production setting.
