Job Title: Accountant
Job Location: Bohemia, NY
Job Duration: 6 Months (Possibilities of Extension)
Payrate: $27.00/ hr on w2

Job Summary:

• This role is located in Bohemia, NY reporting into the Senior Finance Manager.
• The role requires accounting experience in a manufacturing environment with an understanding of large ERP software systems including a solid understanding of US GAAP and SOX compliancy principles with the ability to articulate to senior leadership.
• The main focus will be to support the A/P and A/R functions of the business with the General Accounting functions utilizing fundamental accounting theories and concepts.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist with daily journal entries and account reconciliations.
• The daily tasks include but are not limited to:
  • Process invoices received via physical mail, email, and web portals.
  • Assist with billing and invoicing.
  • Handle credit/re-bill transactions and conduct necessary investigations.
  • Review purchase orders pending matches and enter receipts as required.
  • Monitor and manage unbilled revenue files, ensuring overdue items remain under 90 days.
• Contribute to the preparation of the reporting packages, taking advantage of opportunities to improve usefulness and efficiency.
• Ad-hoc reports and projects as assigned by the Finance Manager.

Degree/Certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance – Required.
• MBA / CMA - Preferred.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 1-3 years of experience (internship experience counts).
• Experience with ERP systems at a G/L level.
• Entering invoices into accounting systems, learning the system and understanding the impacts of entries.
• Ability to work independently; self-motivated; high bias for action.
• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP concepts with proven technical accounting skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Excel Skills.
