Pre-Analytical Assistant I
Job Title: Pre-Analytical Assistant I
Location: Houston, TX
Duration: 12 months
Position 1. Monday-Friday 11:30pm - 8:00am rotating weekend as needed
Position 2. Monday-Friday 8:30pm - 5:00am rotating weekend as needed
Job Summary:
The Pre-Analytical Assistant I provides essential support to lab operations by handling, sorting, and processing clinical specimens. This entry-level role ensures specimens are managed accurately and efficiently, supporting high-quality lab testing and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:

Receive, sort, rack, store, and deliver specimens

Perform basic specimen processing (centrifuging, aliquoting)

Identify and resolve basic specimen issues (e.g., missing data or incorrect types)

Ensure proper documentation and timely task completion

Adhere to compliance and safety regulations

Support weekend, holiday, and overtime staffing as needed

Collaborate in a fast-paced, team-based environment
Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED required

Basic data entry and organizational skills

Medical or lab background preferred

Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work on your feet for extended periods

Strong communication and adaptability
