Job Title: Phlebotomist I
Job Location: Pensacola, FL
Job Duration: 4 months+ contract (possible extension)
Shift: Mon-Fri/6:30 AM – 4:30 PM and Saturday-7am-11am; 40 hours per week
Duties:
- Perform routine and specialized venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations.
- Ensure accurate patient identification, specimen labeling, and handling according to laboratory protocols.
- Maintain specimen integrity during collection, transportation, and storage.
- Provide excellent patient service by maintaining a calm, professional demeanor and addressing patient concerns courteously.
- Assist in scheduling, processing, and tracking patient specimens and related documentation.
- Support multiple Patient Service Centers (PSCs) and In-Office Phlebotomy (IOP) locations as needed, demonstrating flexibility and reliability.
- Follow established safety, infection control, and quality assurance procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked work area.
- Perform data entry and documentation in laboratory systems accurately and efficiently.
- Collaborate effectively with peers, supervisors, and clinical staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical training such as Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required only in CA, NV, and WA).
Experience & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience (required)
- One or more years of phlebotomy experience (preferred)
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment (preferred)
- Prior data entry experience (required)
Work Environment:
- Requires flexibility to travel between assigned sites as needed.
- Must be able to stand for long periods and handle specimens safely.
- Adhere strictly to all company and regulatory health and safety policies.
