Location: Staunton, VA 24401
Duration: 3 Months+ and Possibility of Extension
Shift: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM; Rotational Weekends Required

The Phlebotomist III (Floater) serves as a vital front-line representative of the organization, providing high-quality patient care during both routine and critical interactions. This role is responsible for the safe and accurate collection of blood specimens, preparing them for laboratory analysis while ensuring compliance with established protocols and regulatory standards. As a senior phlebotomy professional, this individual will demonstrate leadership, adaptability, and a commitment to excellence across multiple locations.

As a senior phlebotomy professional, this individual will demonstrate leadership, adaptability, and a commitment to excellence across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily operational tasks efficiently and accurately under the supervision of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a professional, safe, and regulatory-compliant work environment.
- Execute high-quality forensic and clinical specimen collection, including venipuncture and capillary techniques.
- Verify and document patient demographics; obtain patient initials/signatures post-collection to confirm specimen labeling.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation and specimen records.
- Represent the organization positively to patients, clients, colleagues, and the public.
- Communicate effectively with peers, supervisors, and patients, providing a high level of customer service.
- Embrace changes in workflow and actively contribute to process improvement initiatives.
- Travel between assigned locations and provide flexible coverage with minimal notice.
Job Requirements:
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and deliver accurate, error-free results in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced phlebotomy skills, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary draws.
- Flexible schedule availability, including weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call shifts.
- Strict adherence to company policies, including dress code and health & safety protocols.
- Excellent judgment and decision-making skills based on standardized procedures.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable).
- Willingness to float and travel to multiple sites with short notice.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- National or state-recognized phlebotomy certification (preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric populations.
Additional Information:
- Initial training location may vary based on trainer availability.
- This role offers the potential to work in a variety of healthcare environments, including patient service centers, physician offices, and other healthcare facilities as needed.
