Job Role: Surgical Technologist
Location: Cincinnati, OH 45219
Job Type: 3 months (Possibility of extension)
Schedule: 8*5 (Day Shift)
Pay: $45/hr. on W2
Position Overview:
The Surgical Technologist plays a key role in supporting surgical procedures by maintaining a sterile environment, ensuring instruments are ready and functional, and assisting surgeons during procedures. This position requires strong technical knowledge, a high level of attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
Job Duties:
- Prepare OR tables and ensure all instruments/supplies are ready before surgery
- Scrub in and assist surgeons directly during surgical procedures
- Handle instruments, suction, retraction, suturing, irrigation, and dressing under surgeon/RN supervision
- Maintain a sterile field and follow aseptic technique
- Assist with pre- and post-operative patient care (site cleansing, dressing, transferring patient)
- Clean and disassemble instruments post-op, prepare for sterilization
- Maintain equipment, update surgical preference lists, and ensure proper functioning of surgical tools
- Act as a patient advocate, ensuring privacy, dignity, and safety at all times
Required Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of surgical tech experience
- Experience with Client and Spine surgeries
- Sound clinical judgment and ability to remain composed in high-stress situations
- Skilled in handling surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile techniques
- Ability to provide culturally sensitive and age-appropriate care
- Strong communication and confidentiality practices
- Open to ongoing professional development and training
Education Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist Education Program
- 3 years of surgical tech experience within the past 5 years
Certifications & Licensure:
- BLS Certification (American Heart Association)
