Master Electrician
Job Title: Master Electrician
Location: Quincy, MA 02171
Duration: 12 Month+ – Contract to Hire
Pay Range: $64 - $75/Hour. on W2
Job Summary:
We are seeking a licensed Master Electrician with strong facilities or industrial experience to lead and support key initiatives across our electrical infrastructure. The ideal candidate will manage projects, oversee energy systems, and play a vital role in maintaining safe and efficient site operations. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity for individuals looking to transition into a permanent role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage facilities upgrades, renovations, and energy efficiency projects
- Maintain and troubleshoot high and low voltage systems, including:
- 1.5 MW supply site
- Generators
- Fire pumps
- Substations
- Oversee solar energy systems (1.3 MW rooftop) and coordinate with vendors
- Lead electrical projects and continuous improvement efforts
- Maintain detailed logs, schematics, and power monitoring via sub-meter systems
- Act as point of contact for vendor coordination and electrical troubleshooting
- Participate in on-call rotation (every 3–4 weeks after 6 PM, compensated at $20/day)
Qualifications & Skills:
Education & Licensure:
- Valid Master Electrician License (Required)
Required Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of electrician experience
- Strong background in facilities or industrial settings (mandatory)
- Experience with commercial-level generators
- Skilled in reading electrical drawings/schematics
- Proficient with high and low voltage systems (down to 24V)
- Experience using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
- Solid knowledge of local/state electrical codes and their application
- Proven experience working with and managing vendors
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Familiarity with fire protection systems
- Knowledge of building automation systems (e.g., Schneider, Wattstopper, Synapse)
- Experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
- CMMS proficiency in tools such as ServiceZone, BlueMountain, or Maximo
