Route Service Representative
Job Title: Route Service Representative (RSR)
Schedule & Duration:

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week

Days: Monday to Friday

Shift: 12:30 PM - 9:00 PM (local time)

Duration: 4 months, possibility of extension
Position Overview: The Route Service Representative (RSR) serves as the face of Quest Diagnostics to clients, acting as an ambassador for the company in all interactions. This position is responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant transportation of specimens, supplies, reports, and other materials. The RSR ensures proper handling and storage of specimens and maintains effective communication with both clients and the logistics team.
Key Responsibilities:

Compliance & Safety: Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to timekeeping, attendance, vehicle safety, cleanliness, OSHA requirements, and proper handling of specimens. Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper use of handheld/scanning devices.

Transportation & Delivery: Safely and timely transport specimens, supplies, reports, and materials to their designated destinations, following scheduled routes and will-call stops. Ensure proper packing and storage of specimens during transport, including the use of coolers and dry ice.

Vehicle Maintenance: Operate and maintain a company vehicle, ensuring a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. Perform daily vehicle checks and ensure the vehicle remains clean and safe.

Route Management: Start the route with all necessary equipment, such as scanners, logs, coolers, and cell phones. Follow the route schedule while handling special pickups and will-call stops. Update route information, sequencing, and client notes as needed.

Client Interaction: Maintain a high level of professionalism and service orientation with clients, utilizing the company’s Everyday Excellence principles. Place door hangers for clients with no specimens or missed pickups, and ensure communication with the supervisor for follow-ups.

Documentation: Ensure all scan/documentation requirements are met, including tracking irreplaceable or frozen specimens. Provide client feedback and satisfaction information to Logistics Management.

Professional Development: Attend and participate in meetings, training sessions, and maintain up-to-date skills and certifications.
Job Qualifications:
Required Experience:
-
A valid driver’s license with at least 1 year of driving experience.
-
Documentation of a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) showing no more than three moving violations within the previous 36 months.
Preferred Experience:
-
At least 1 year of experience in customer service, logistics, or delivery.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
-
Ability to travel extensively and work in various environments.
-
Extensive use of a phone and handheld devices (PC).
-
Prolonged periods of standing, sitting, walking, and driving.

Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly, with occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds.

Ability to carry up to 15 pounds for several minutes.

Strong visual attention to details and ability to work in limited lighting.

Requires the ability to balance, bend, kneel, push/pull, and perform reaching or twisting movements.
Knowledge and Skills:

General computer knowledge and familiarity with handheld scanning devices is preferred.
