Location: Pembroke Pines, FL |
Duration: 4+ Months (Possible Extension)**
Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM | Rotational Saturdays: 6:30 AM–10:30 AM
Position Overview
The Phlebotomist I / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of the organization by providing high-quality, compassionate service to patients. This role is responsible for collecting accurate blood specimens, preparing them for laboratory testing, and ensuring compliance with all safety and procedural standards. The PSR I interacts directly with patients, creating a professional, comfortable, and trustworthy environment while performing blood draws in a safe, skilled, and efficient manner.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership behaviors, exceptional attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and accuracy in all patient interactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily operational tasks accurately, safely, and on schedule under the guidance of the area supervisor.
- Create and maintain a professional and safe work environment.
- Confidently perform clinical and forensic specimen collection following established practices and procedures.
- Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing with high accuracy.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation and required records.
- Uphold organizational values and promote a positive image to patients, clients, coworkers, and the public.
- Provide outstanding customer service and ensure a positive experience for all patients.
Job Requirements
- Ability to deliver quality, errorfree work in a fastpaced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric draws.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime as needed.
- Commitment to punctuality—must arrive on time and complete the full shift.
- Reliable transportation (personal vehicle required—rideshare/bus not accepted).
- Must live within a 20–25 minute commute to the worksite.
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED—Required
- Medical training preferred (Medical Assistant, Paramedic, etc.)
- Phlebotomy certification preferred
- Required only for California, Nevada, and Washington
Work Experience
- Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience—Required
- 1+ year of direct phlebotomy experience preferred
- Experience in customer service (retail or service environment) preferred
- Strong keyboarding/data entry skills required
- Resume must include:

- Clear breakdown of direct experience (overlapping roles cannot count twice)
Additional Details
- Candidates must have reliable, consistent transportation to/from the worksite.
- Excessive tardiness or absenteeism will result in termination.
- Pay rate is determined based on verified years of direct experience as listed on the resume (per Southeast rate card guidelines).
