Job Title: Phlebotomist
Duration: 5 months
Location: Wilmington NC
Shift: Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM
Job Summary:
The PSR I serves as the company’s frontline representative, interacting directly with patients during routine visits or critical health decisions. Responsibilities include drawing quality blood samples, preparing specimens for lab testing, and creating a trusting, professional environment. The role demands leadership, process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy in handling patient information.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform daily tasks accurately and on time under area supervisor direction.
Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
Confidently perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing, adhering to established procedures.
Maintain required records and documentation.
Demonstrate organizational commitment and foster a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Explain procedures clearly to patients to build trust and comfort during blood draws.
Follow confidentiality protocols to protect patient information.
Job Requirements:
Provide high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced setting.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric patients.
Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as staffing needs require.
Reliable transportation to and from the worksite (bus, Uber, rideshare not accepted as reliable).
Must be punctual and present for entire scheduled shifts; excessive absenteeism or tardiness may lead to termination.
Commute time to the worksite must be within 20-25 minutes to ensure reliability.
Education & Certifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (REQUIRED).
Medical training (medical assistant or paramedic) preferred.
Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in CA, NV, WA).
Experience:
Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience (REQUIRED).
1+ years phlebotomy experience preferred.
Additional Information:
Must meet Novant hospital’s green security requirements (refer to attachment).
