Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant
Location: New York, NY
Department: Radiology Private Ambulatory Associates
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Hourly rate: $21/hour Negotiable
Role Overview:
As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will support patient care and clinical operations in a radiology outpatient setting. Your role involves direct patient assistance, clinical procedures, administrative duties, and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Location: New York, NY
Department: Radiology Private Ambulatory Associates
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Hourly rate: $21/hour Negotiable
Role Overview:
As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will support patient care and clinical operations in a radiology outpatient setting. Your role involves direct patient assistance, clinical procedures, administrative duties, and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care & Clinical Support:
- Perform venipuncture, EKGs, vital signs, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing.
- Assist patients with mobility, exam preparation, and accompany them to procedure rooms.
- Support physicians during procedures and communicate instructions to patients/families.

Administrative & Clerical Duties:
- Manage patient medical records, lab/x-ray reports, referral information, and documentation via EMR or manual systems.
- Enter orders and prescription refill requests for physician review.
- Schedule appointments, surgeries, and procedures; update patient demographics and insurance information.
- Verify insurance and pre-certifications as necessary.

Inventory & Compliance:
- Order, stock, and monitor medical supplies; check medication expiration and dispose appropriately.
- Prepare exam rooms and instruments following sterilization and infection control protocols.
- Maintain logs for refrigeration, crash cart, sterilization, and testing processes.
- Adhere to safety standards, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and legal regulations.

Additional Duties:
- Perform phlebotomy proficiently.
- Support chart maintenance including filing reports and test results.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Education & Certification:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Medical Assistant certificate from an approved school.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA required).
- Certified Medical Assistant preferred.

Skills & Competencies:
- Basic proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Effective communication skills, including working with multicultural and language-deficit patients.
- Excellent telephone etiquette.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA compliance.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and billing systems preferred.
- Adaptability in a dynamic healthcare environment.
