Job Summary:
- The PSR II is the first point of contact for patients, representing the company in a professional and compassionate manner.
- The role includes drawing quality blood specimens, preparing them for lab testing, and ensuring accuracy, safety, and patient comfort.
- The PSR II demonstrates leadership behaviors, process excellence, and confidentiality while supporting clinical and administrative workflows.
Work Locations:

Doctor’s office, Patient Service Center, or other assigned sites based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe and professional environment.
- Conduct forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established procedures.
- Verify patient demographics, obtain initials/signature post-venipuncture, and ensure tube labeling accuracy.
- Maintain required records and documentation.
- Provide excellent patient care by creating trust, explaining procedures, and ensuring comfort during blood draws.
- Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
- Perform Point-of-Care (POC) testing as needed.
- Manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment with minimal supervision.
Education / Training:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Medical training (Medical Assistant or Paramedic) preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in CA, NV, WA).
Experience:
- 1–3 years phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections (required).
- 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
- Customer service experience in retail or service environment preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry experience.
Skills / Abilities:
- Excellent phlebotomy skills.
- Ability to provide error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
- Strong customer service skills and effective communication.
- Ability to follow policies, procedures, and Everyday Excellence Guiding Principles.
- Decision-making based on established procedures and good judgment.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable).
- Ability to cover multiple locations on short notice.
