Title: Warehouse Associate
Location: Murphysboro, IL
Contract: 6+ Months
Shift: 1st shift (8:30 AM - 4:30 PM)
The purpose of this position is:
The Warehouse Associate picks, packs, and ships supplies and materials to internal and external customers in an accurate and timely manner; efficiently and safely transports, sorts, and stocks materials.
This position includes significant duties such as:
Transports incoming and outgoing materials to designated areas utilizing appropriate tools/vehicles to accomplish task including but not limited to hand dolly, forklift, electric dolly, pallet jack, and/or elevator
Performs quality inspections on incoming and outgoing materials and products
Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined inventory procedures
Picks, packs, and ships materials and products
Processes all packages for shipping; including affixing shipping labels, boxing products with dry ice per packaging regulations and processing returned merchandise
Conducts physical inventory counts; replenishes stock from back-up locations as needed
Maintains a safe, clean working environment and participates in quality improvement efforts
Performs required administrative tasks; preparing all required shipping reports and correspondence
Will be required to help out with production tasks if needed. Performs other related duties as assigned
Working Conditions:
Frequently lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds and up to 60 pounds frequently; rarely lifts over 60 lbs. Use of noxious or hazardous chemicals with appropriate PPE. Protective clothing or equipment may occasionally be required including: gloves, freezer jacket or jumpsuit, protective eyewear, footwear.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required
Experience:
Fork truck experience preferred. Fork truck certification provided.
