Phlebotomist II
Job Title: Phlebotomist II
Job Location: Carmel, IN
Job Duration: 2 Months (Possible Extension)
Shift: 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM (ET).
Pay Rate: $25/hr. on W2
Job Summary:
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the primary point of contact for patients. The role represents the organization with professionalism and care. The PSR II is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens and preparing them for laboratory testing. The role requires following established procedures while ensuring accuracy and safety. The PSR II creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence by explaining procedures clearly and performing phlebotomy in a skillful manner.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform daily activities accurately and on time.
Work under the direction of the area supervisor.
Maintain a safe and professional environment.
Perform clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing.
Follow established practices and procedures at all times.
Perform venipuncture for pediatric, geriatric, and adult patients.
Verify patient identity and demographic information before specimen collection.
Obtain patient acknowledgment after collection to confirm proper labeling.
Maintain required records and documentation.
Promote a positive image to patients, clients, and team members.
Demonstrate organizational commitment and professionalism.
Job Requirements:
Ability to provide quality and error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric experience.
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call shifts.
Ability to make decisions using established procedures and good judgment.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between locations.
Required Education:
High school diploma or equivalent: Required.
Medical assistant or paramedic training: Preferred.
Phlebotomy certification: Preferred.
Work Experience:
1 to 3 years of phlebotomy experience: Required.
Experience with pediatric and geriatric collections: Required.
2 years in a Patient Service Center environment: Preferred.
Customer service experience: Highly preferred.
Keyboard and data entry skills: Required.
