Job Title: Entry Phlebotomist I / Patient Services Representative I
Location: Oldsmar, FL
Duration: 6+ Months (Possibility of Extension)
Shift:
- Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri — 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM
- Sat — 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Job Overview
The Entry Phlebotomist I / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the welcoming face for patients visiting the facility—whether for routine healthcare needs or crucial diagnostic services. This role is essential in creating a positive, safe, and supportive patient experience.
The Entry PSR I provides highquality customer service by greeting patients, answering questions, guiding them through checkin, and maintaining a professional lobby environment. This role will also include training in Phlebotomy, enabling longterm growth within the company. Once certified and trained, the individual will assist with specimen collection as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Interaction & Customer Service
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival and assist with questions or concerns with empathy and professionalism.
- Support lobby checkin processes using selfservice kiosks or handheld tablets.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming waiting area.
- Establish trust and confidence with patients by clearly explaining procedures and expectations.
Phlebotomy & Clinical Support
- Be willing and prepared to learn Phlebotomy skills during downtime or when coverage is needed.
- Upon training completion, perform clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing following established protocols.
- Assist other Phlebotomists during breaks and peak times.
Operational Responsibilities
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
- Maintain required documentation and adhere to confidentiality standards.
- Uphold safety, professionalism, and organizational policies at all times.
- Promote a positive company image to patients, clients, coworkers, and the public.
- Demonstrate willingness to learn new skills and grow within the role.
Required Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent (REQUIRED)
Experience
-
1–2 years of clientfacing customer service experience required
(Examples: Retail, Home Health Aide, Hospitality) - Prior Phlebotomy experience NOT required
- Keyboarding and data entry skills required.
Critical Skills
- Exceptional customer service skills (nonnegotiable).
- Compassionate and patientfocused communication abilities.
- Ability to multitask in a fastpaced environment.
- Willingness to learn and perform Phlebotomy (this is NOT only a frontdesk role).
Additional Requirements
- Must have reliable transportation (rideshare or bus is not considered reliable for this role).
- Must be consistently punctual and able to work the full scheduled shift.
- Excessive absenteeism or tardiness will result in termination.
- Must live within 20–25 minutes of the worksite for reliable commute and shift coverage.
