Phlebotomist III - Floater
Job Title: Phlebotomist III - Flaoter
Job Location: Canton, GA
Job Duration: 5+ Months
Shift: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM M-F
Job Description: The Patient Services Representative III-Floater (PSR III) serves as the face of the company for patients seeking healthcare services, either for routine care or significant health decisions. The PSR III is responsible for drawing high-quality blood samples and preparing specimens for lab testing, adhering to established practices and procedures. This role involves direct patient interaction, where the PSR III ensures a trusting, confident environment by explaining procedures and performing blood draws in a safe, accurate, and skillful manner. The PSR III demonstrates leadership behaviors while focusing on process excellence, confidentiality, and precision in handling patient information.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.

Maintain a safe, professional, and welcoming environment.

Confidently handle both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing, following established protocols.

Perform verification of patient demographic information and ensure specimen labeling accuracy.

Maintain required records and documentation.

Provide a positive image of the company, delivering excellent service to patients, clients, employees, and the public.

Work flexibly across various locations as needed, including patient service centers, doctor's offices, and other locations based on business needs.
Job Requirements:

Ability to deliver quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.

Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric experience.

Flexible and available for various shifts, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime, depending on staffing needs.

Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record (if applicable).

Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.

Demonstrates superior customer focus and effective communication with peers, supervisors, and patients.

Willingness to embrace change and accelerate improvement in processes.
Required Education:
-
High school diploma or equivalent.
-
Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
-
Phlebotomy certification is preferred (Required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
Work Experience:
-
A minimum of 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

At least 2 years of experience in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.

Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
-
Keyboard/data entry experience is essential.
