Specimen Technician
Job Title: Laboratory Assistant
Location: Irving, TX
Duration: 3-6 months (Possible Extension/ Temp to Hire)
Available Shifts:
1) Tue to Sat: 4 AM - 12:30 PM
2) Tue to Sat: 10 AM - 6:30 PM
3) Tue to Sat: 12 PM - 8:30 PM
4) Overnight: 12:30 AM - 9:00 AM
Summary:
Assist laboratory staff by performing routine lab tasks accurately and efficiently to support testing and production.
Key Responsibilities:

Sort, receive, and prepare specimens for testing (aliquoting, slide prep, worklists)

Operate lab instruments and perform routine maintenance

Prepare reagents and media
-
Perform QA/QC duties and resolve pending lists
-
Decontaminate work areas and dispose of biohazardous materials

Maintain department records and perform weekly radioactive wipe tests

Follow all safety protocols and PPE requirements

Use lab computer systems for data entry and reporting
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; medical assistant training helpful

Math and science coursework preferred

Strong ability to multitask and retain information

Professional and courteous interaction with coworkers and customers
