Phlebotomist I

Location: Fernandina Beach, FL (Must reside within a 20–25-minute commute)
Duration: 6 months +, temp-to-hire
Hours per Week: 30
Shift Options:

• 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM with rotating Saturdays (7:00 AM – 12:00 PM)
• 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM with rotating Saturdays (7:00 AM – 12:00 PM)
  Time Zone: Eastern

The Phlebotomist I represents the face of the organization to patients and clients. This role involves direct patient interaction and requires a high level of skill in collecting quality blood samples and preparing them for laboratory testing. The Phlebotomist I ensures a positive patient experience by maintaining a professional, safe, and compassionate environment.

• Collect blood specimens from patients (including pediatric and geriatric) using proper technique.
• Prepare specimens for laboratory processing, ensuring accurate labeling and documentation.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and professional environment.
• Explain procedures clearly and help ease patient anxiety to build trust.
• Follow all established procedures, safety protocols, and confidentiality guidelines.
• Complete daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
• Promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent – Required
• Medical assistant or paramedic training – Preferred
• Phlebotomy certification – Preferred

Experience:

• Minimum of 6 months phlebotomy experience – Required
• 1+ year of phlebotomy experience – Preferred
• Customer service experience in healthcare, retail, or service industries – Preferred
• Keyboard/data entry skills – Required

• Commute time to site must be within 20–25 minutes.
• Reliable transportation is required (rideshare/bus not accepted).
• Must be consistently on time, stay for the full shift, and be available for the full schedule, including Saturdays.
• Must be flexible and available to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
