Respiratory Therapist

Position: Respiratory Therapist (Contract)
Location: Southfield, MI
Schedule: 3 x 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM 7:30 AM)
Duration: 13 weeks (04/20/2026 07/18/2026)
Hours: 36 hours/week

Under general supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, the Respiratory Therapist provides life support, resuscitation, monitoring, and medical gas therapy to patients.

Responsibilities include:

• Performing invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures for ICU and general care patients
• Maintaining clinical expertise across assigned units
• Communicating effectively with patients, physicians, and healthcare staff regarding care needs
• Accurately documenting all aspects of patient care
• Supervising and guiding therapists, students, and externs as assigned
• Completing accurate patient billing documentation

Required:

• Associate of Science Degree from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program

Preferred:

• Bachelors Degree in Respiratory Therapy

Required:

• Registration with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
• Current Respiratory Therapist License (State of Michigan)
• BLS certification (AHA)

Required:

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a Respiratory Therapist

Preferred:

• Neonatal ICU (NICU) experience
• Experience in a Level II Trauma facility

• Candidates must meet all required qualifications (education, licensure, certifications, and experience)
