Job Title: QI Specialist I (Remote – Imperial County, CA)
Location: Fully Remote (Must be based in or able to travel to Imperial County, CA as needed for provider visits)
Type: Temporary (3-month contract with potential to extend to full-time)
Pay Rate: 37.84/hr. on w2
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM PST (1-hour lunch)
Job Summary:
- The Provider Engagement Specialist supports the implementation of provider engagement strategies to improve quality and risk adjustment outcomes.
- The role focuses on developing relationships with Tier 2 and Tier 3 providers, fostering data-informed performance improvement, and addressing practice-level barriers. This position is key to driving provider collaboration, education, and transformation efforts aligned with health plan goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute provider engagement plans for assigned Tier 2 and Tier 3 providers.
- Conduct regular provider meetings and develop action items to improve quality and risk adjustment performance.
- Identify and address barriers within provider practices that hinder goal achievement.
- Promote provider participation in quality and risk adjustment initiatives (e.g., EMR connectivity, data sharing, Clinical Profiles).
- Track all engagement activities using standardized tools.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support provider training, data exchange, and documentation processes.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for Provider Engagement within the health plan.
- Maintain effective communication with physicians, practice staff, and health plan partners.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and healthcare regulations.
Education & Certification:
Associate’s degree (Bachelor’s preferred) or equivalent experience
Certification in healthcare quality (preferred).
Experience:
- 1–3 years in healthcare.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in provider engagement, quality improvement, managed care, or practice transformation.
- Experience working with healthcare providers to improve quality performance.
Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with internal and external partners.
- Highly organized, responsive, respectful, and courteous.
- Demonstrated data analytical skills and familiarity with HEDIS and risk adjustment metrics.
- Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio
- Leadership ability and problem-solving orientation.
- Additional Information:
- This is a remote position, but candidates must be able to travel within Imperial County, CA as required.
- Role may be extended or converted to full-time based on performance and organizational needs.
Must be available during regular PST business hours.
