Machine and Production Operator - Plant - Multiple Shifts
Job Title: Mechanical Technician / Production Technician

Job Summary
The Mechanical Technician is responsible for operating and maintaining production machinery, ensuring equipment is set to required specifications, monitoring machine performance, and verifying that materials and finished products meet quality standards.
Key Responsibilities

Operate production machinery and equipment.

Set machinery to required operational settings and specifications.
-
Monitor the operation and performance of machinery or equipment to ensure smooth functioning.
-
Inspect materials and products to verify they meet required quality standards.
-
Maintain and troubleshoot automated equipment, including autonomous robots responsible for case, layer, and pallet movement.
-
Perform preventive maintenance, calibrations, and routine checks on all assigned equipment.
-
Troubleshoot, monitor, and improve equipment performance and system functionality.
-
Analyze technical data and equipment trends to identify potential issues proactively.
-
Support system integration, including mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical components.

Ensure effective issue resolution, root cause analysis, and long-term corrective actions.

Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments as required.
Required Skills & Technical Competencies

Applied mechanical skills in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

Strong understanding of:

Engines, pumps, compressors, conveyors
-
Gears, bearings, and various mechanical components
-
Machine construction, working principles, and operational characteristics

Proficiency with:

Hand tools and power tools
-
Diagnostic equipment
-
Precision measurement and alignment instruments
-

Knowledge of system integration, including interconnections with electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

Strong technical troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root cause analysis abilities.

Effective interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Shift Requirements
-
Ability to work 12-hour shifts.
-
Schedule options may include:
-
2-2-3 bi-weekly rotation
-
Straight day shifts
-
Straight night shifts
-

Shifts are assigned based on business needs; preferred shift selection cannot be guaranteed.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
