Job Description

Position Title:- Echo Tech - Cardiac Sonographer
Location: Lebanon, PA
Duration:12 week(s)
Shift: Call rotation would be 1 day per week and every 3rd weekend. The weekend on call would also include a standard (non-callback) shift Sunday 0700-1100hrs.

•At least 20 hrs a week, could be more

•This position does include call rotation with 30min response time

The rotation would be as follows:

Monday 0700 - 1530hrs

Thursday 0700 - 1100hrs

Friday 0700 - 1530hrs

•Will need to work Fulltime during the following weeks:

Position Description

Performs routine cardiac ultrasound techniques and examinations such as, adult echocardiograms, preps and acquires stress echocardiograms, pediatric echocardiograms, and 3D echo. Assists the physicians with transesophageal echocardiograms and operative transesophageal echocardiograms.
Supervises, assists, and evaluates students in the clinical education setting.
Obtains intravenous access and administers intravenous contrast agents such as Definity and Optison. Performs Saline Bubble Studies.
Prepares preliminary echocardiogram reports and measurements for physicians.
Performs portable tests in patient rooms when necessary.
Clerical duties such as, scheduling patients, ensuring accurate billing codes, answering phones.
Maintains equipment in efficient operating order; performs preventative maintenance on a regularly scheduled basis; contacts Biomed Department for major malfunctions.
Knowledge and routine use of digital image storage system (PACS) and associated workflow software
Assists with ordering and restocking supplies.
Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work areas.
Attends meetings as required.
Performs other related duties as identified.
Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of the assigned patient population. Assesses and interprets patient age specific data and provides appropriate, age specific treatment. Provides direct patient care to assigned patient age group(s).
Demonstrates a commitment to patient, visitor and staff by: complying with all applicable safety regulations; learning the impact of medical errors and methodology that will lead to reduction of errors; reporting actual and potential errors, as well as hazardous conditions; identifying opportunities to standardize processes and "error proof" systems that will lead to increased safety; and participating in safety education programs and root cause analyses as required.


Qualifications
Associate's Degree from an accredited program in Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) OR Registered Cardia Sonographer (RCS)
6-12 months experience
