Category Associate, Meetings & Events, NA

The Category Associate will be responsible for assisting in the procurement related business activities at the company and in the management of the relationship of the preferred Meeting & Events suppliers. This individual will take part in the review and monitoring of the supplier performance and assist in the implementation of the procurement activities and supplier strategies as outlined by the Category Leads. This individual will plan and direct activities and deliver against targets for quality, service and compliance adherence.

The Category Associate's scope of responsibilities include:
Act on the vision, strategy and implementation plan for specific key suppliers to meet the strategies set forth by the Category Leads as well as meeting the requirements of the business partners and deliver the maximum value for company.
Interface directly with suppliers to report on their alignment to company's objectives, including quality,
reliability, innovation and cost.
Develop supplier relationships to include data review and analysis, performance management and development and improvement of end to end value to the business
Deliver on financial, service, reliability, quality, innovation, and growth commitments
Partner with internal stakeholders inside (Global Services, Cat Leads, ...) and outside the procurement function (HCC, Finance, Meeting & Events owners, ....)
Escalate issues that may impact the Global Procurement organization.

Major Duties & Responsibilities
Prepare monthly savings review and perform savings update in saving reporting tool.
Facilitate the development, implementation, and maintenance of processes, policies, guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures, and Business Operating Principles
Execute country market RFP's between preferred suppliers.
Have country ownership for the SMM program in selective markets
Facilitate supplier business reviews; establishing cadence and agenda together with category lead and other appropriate parties to be involved.
Align with regional and global procurement peers in order to harmonize and optimize buying processes (eMP, Cat Cards).
Assist in developing and monitoring the regional category Business Plan.

Required Minimum Education: Bachelor or equivalent; MBA or Master preferred;
Preferred Area of Study: Business, life sciences or related field
Required Years of Related Experience: +5 years; Experienced professional within a Procurement environment;

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong verbal and written communication skill with ability to confidently present complex information
Analytical, sound judgment and decision making, problem solver
Demonstrated track record of delivering against targets and objectives
Demonstrated Credo mindset and behaviour
Able to prioritize requests, and propose effective cost/customer service alternatives when necessary.
Level of proficiency with core Procurement skills (e.g., supplier management and performance, supply market analysis, Category Management, Procurement Excellence, etc.)
Ability to develop level of credibility with internal customers, and with the supplier community
Ability to see issues from multiple viewpoints and understand differing needs of stakeholders (e.g., businesses, Procurement LT, Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain)
Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to respond to changes in the external environment.

Travel on the Job: 10% of travel required (domestic and international)
